User Interview Details
Study Design: Qualitative semi-structured Interview
Duration: 30-45 minutes
Research Questions:
- What is the current process of food redistribution at their organization/businesses?
- What are the challenges that they face regarding food waste and food redistribution?
Data Analysis Plan: Qualitative interview coding Coding Protocol
User Criteria:
- Country of residence: US
- Age: Over 18 years old
- Organization type:
- Group 1: Non-profit organizations in food redistribution (e.g., food banks, food pantries)
- Group 2: Businesses: restaurants, cafes, catering companies
- Role in organization: Coordinators, logistics managers, catering staff, and decision-makers
- Role in food business: managers, owner, chef, baristas, servers that have knowledge on how the business manage surplus food and food redistribution
Sample Size: Goal of at least 5 participants per group - We only ended up with 2 in each group, so more interviews are needed in Phase 3.
