Overview

Week 2 focuses on product management: defining a product’s strategy and release scope, understanding user needs, and organizing work through requirements and a backlog. Requirements are assumptions, so agile teams prioritize the most important work, deliver in small steps, and use feedback to refine their plans. The class explains how to translate a vision into epics, features, and tasks, then define clear acceptance criteria and build a roadmap. It also covers how teams collaborate across different roles and use methods such as Kanban and Scrum to manage delivery. The goal is to solve the right problem for users and keep adjusting the product as teams learn.

Objectives

  1. Explain how product strategy connects a release vision to user needs, business goals, scope, and success measures.
  2. Describe how agile teams treat requirements as assumptions, gather the most important ones first, and refine them through continuous delivery and feedback.
  3. Translate release scope into epics, features, and tasks, then organize the work in a prioritized backlog and roadmap.
  4. Define clear, testable task requirements using user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, task flows, and BDD scenarios.
  5. Describe how team roles and methods such as Kanban and Scrum support collaboration and iterative product delivery.
