Introduction

• Did a quick guide on what tools FigJam has. I highly encourage all apprentices who are not familiar with it get familiarize it very quickly because Research, Strategy, and Design all uses these tools are part of the process.
• Warm on-boarding to all apprentices

<aside> 👉🏼 Brenda's Geekout Moment: For those that don’t know what the 8 ideas, 8-minute brainstorm. It’s awfully similar to Crazy 8’s. A method that UX Design often use to do a visual storyboarding in order to have a grasp of what the problem is and how to define it. However, if we make it into game night style, I would say it’s like playing telephone, but you have to craft a story based off of the story the person has brainstormed (That would be Wild Ideas Only).

Project Scoping

• Our role - think being a cat herder vs. being a guidance.
• Our responsibilities
  • Administrative duties, such as liaising with cross-functional teams, scheduling meetings, facilitating them, and tracking the back log.
  • We still need to communicate with teams for their progress based on the backlog + timeline.
  • We are communication heavy. The only thing we ask from you is to keep us in the loop.
    • Brain dump if you have to. You can communicate us in written essays. Bullet points.
      • It’s always better to over communicate than to under.

<aside> 💡 Project managers may not be the most creative people ever, but we can still have many ways to think creatively!

• Apprentices want to be best supported by asking a lot of questions and have a certain amount of guidance enough for them to be able to work without too much supervision.

  • Project Management v. Product Strategy
    • Project Management is “execution-based”, whereas Product Strategy is “vision-based”.

  “In the realm of creation, they unite, Product strategy and project’s guiding light, One maps the path with vision so clear, The other ensures tasks, milestones appear. Together they forge innovation’s bright flight.

  • Voice of Customer

    • This just doesn’t apply in a client-facing business. This frequently happens everywhere, whether you work in retail, food, healthcare & supply industry.
      • When a customer has a feedback, you take that feedback as a learning lesson and you find ways to develop a new solution in order to increase efficiency.
