Research Goals

• To understand the challenges faced by stay-at-home parents when reentering workforce
  • Identify different sources of the challenges (confidence, skill gaps, family responsibilities, etc)
• To understand how they are tackling or have tackled those challenges
  • To understand what support or resources can be helpful for stay-at-home parents when reentering the workforce
• Explore parents’ motivations for staying at home and returning to the workforce.

Research Questions

• What are the most important needs of stay-at-home parents reentering the workforce?
• What are ways we could help meet those needs?
• What is already being done in the market to help our target audience? What made it effective/ineffective?

Interview Script

This session aims to learn more about your experience and needs as a stay-at-home parent or guardian reentering the workforce.

If I ask ‘why’ quite often, it's just to ensure I understand your experiences. There are no right or wrong answers, and you can stop the interview anytime.

The session should last around 30-40 minutes.

The information we collect will be used to start building an app that will help stay-at-home parents successfully transition back into a career.
