Residents are expected to spend up to 4 hours a week in residency over the 3 month period:
It's important for Agile teams in the world to be service leaders to each other and to practice agile principles in their work. Employers will expect you to hold agile principles and talk about those agile principles in your interviews. You must show skill sets like service leadership, self organization, psychological safety, and iterative value delivery. The best way to learn these skills is to apply them while doing real team work.
The Service Leadership Residency program offers a chance for graduates of the Tech Fleet Service Leadership Masterclass to receive extra support and training while being on a Tech Fleet project. The program will be for a period of 3 months, during which you will be expected to apply to Tech Fleet projects in whatever role you choose.
If you are on projects as a resident, you will receive access to special mentoring sessions and group activities related to service leadership. Participants will be able to put this on their resume as training.
This residency is suited to anyone who wants to master the craft of Agile cross-functional teamwork.
Service Leadership is a crucial foundation for teamwork, but it’s not easy to master. It takes time, energy, mindfulness, and practice. People who intentionally bring this style of leadership to their teamwork and build influence for this style of leadership can make huge change. This style of leadership leads to higher performance and higher morale, and is a valuable skill asset to take into the work world, no matter what kinds of jobs you land.
