Earth Hero provides tools and ideas to empower all who want to reduce emissions, improve lives and care for our shared planet.

Vision:

The key goal is to make it easy for people to act on the climate emergency with the help of the Earth Hero mobile app.

Mobile App Specific:

Users should be able to navigate the mobile app seamlessly and effortlessly without feeling lost in the app's navigation or experiencing information overload.

Problem Statement:

The EH app's Main Navigation IA could be better organized and structured. . It is an opportunity to increase user engagement and retention rate, especially for new users.

Project Scope:

• Restructure the main navigation tabs pages (Home, My Progress, Actions), meaning the placement and the content within these pages to ensure an intuitive user flow based on their varying needs.

What are their needs? List of all possible actions a user can do with the Earth Hero app and prioritize it (Ben, would this help?)

• Home - limit to key information only & concise scrolling Points to ponder based on Sabrina’s research insights.

  • Permanent + visual modules (4ct.)
  • Header with profile picture, EH points, and quote
  • Remove “My Achievements” module
  • Remove “Goals in Process” module
  • Find a better way to signal carbon profile input updates

• Action - Rework the page to clearly reflect Actions Vs My Actions Points to ponder based on Sabrina’s research insights.

  • Inconsistencies with the wording for “actions”
  • Move ‘Saved Actions’, ‘Actions in Progress’, and ‘Completed Actions’ to the “Actions” page and put under ‘My Actions’ tab
  • Design and structure the Earth Hero points page

• My Progress - Assess the necessity of this page and/ or if its content can be combined/ split to other pages. Points to ponder based on Sabrina’s research insights.

  • Create a Profile section that contains Emissions, Impact, Leaderboard, Earthpoints, settings, etc
  • Placement of logo and ‘i’
  • Inconsistencies with the wording for “refine emission” and meaning behind it

• Profile - Assess if there is a need to create a profile page and the content it needs to have.( eg personal space to track progress visually and edit emissions, etc) Points to ponder based on Sabrina’s research insights.

  • Graphical view (instead of list) to track progress
  • Combine Actions and EH points into pie chart
  • Emissions chart (better button, communicate editable graph)
  • Settings page

• Align with the standard mental models and research findings. (For example, that could include menu structure, what modules go on what screen, navigation, words used, and enhancing current modules.)
