Problem Statement

The barriers to entry for new users to onboard into the world of crypto and blockchain are very high, causing many people to avoid it entirely. One of Kadet Wallet’s stated goals is to appeal to new crypto users and make it just as easy for them to use the application as experienced users. However, we don’t yet know what problems new users in particular experience nor what their specific needs are when trying to onboard into crypto.

Research Goal(s)

Interview users who are new to crypto (meaning they have no prior experience using a crypto wallet app) to identify and understand the specific needs, problems, and frustrations they’ve experienced while trying to learn about and engage with crypto and blockchain.

Research Objectives

• Identify the general demographics of new crypto users
• Identify what draws new users to crypto
• Identify what blockers keep new users from engaging with crypto, what things they’ve tried, what happened, and/or went wrong
• Understand how users deepen their education about crypto, where they go to find more information, and how they learn
• Identify gaps and opportunities in the newcomer market to propose user-focused solutions for Kadet Wallet
