August 6, 2024 Katya starting research analysis today. Would like to have full report by Friday for client. Voting is 50:50 for extending the phase? Thematic analysis needs to happen today/tomorrow. Analysis might not be as thorough due to deadline? Once you’re done with thematic analysis, look for common themes. Originally thought there would be two people doing thematic analysis, but due to time might just be one. Structure it similarly to interview.

The interviews were focused on personal stories, why is the product important to them, what kind of problems the product will solve for them.

Try to have illustrative quotes; stakeholders like to see these. If you have time, pull out audio clips of the interviewees clips.

Worried recruitment emails might have been marked as spam. Even if there are late responses at the end of the week, don’t feel pressure to include that data. Leave it for the next sprint.

Wondering if client is going to attend Thursday demo/wrap meeting.

UXR:

Now have 8 Spanish speakers for survey. 20+ English speakers No non-Taino descendants on non-Taino survey. Two interviewees did not show up for interviews. Katya says not to take it too personally. People do that.

Katya feels we need at least 30-35 respondents to address results with confidence.

Phase 2 might need to do survey too. But they might want to have the research focus. Might come to a point where research needs to push UXW or UXD for any type of prototypes to show users.

Joy needs help with survey respondent management.

Katya says interesting insights are rolling in already. Quantitative (demographics, multiple choice) Planning to give everyone access to the surveys.

Qualitative data from surveys and quantitative data still need analysis.

Logistical conversation around how to do analysis for surveys, who’s doing what.
