Problem Statement

The client (Life Scholar) has a product line of fragrances (Life Essenz) as an Ecommerce website that is currently built on WordPress and fulfilled by WooCommerce. However, WordPress is not robust enough to manage the LifeEssenz (LE) business model and client needs. Some of the issues with the platform include WordPress’s complexity with content management, the many plugins that are required to perform tasks, inability to support multiple users on the site simultaneously, the site’s inability to integrate the ECommerce payments part well, compatibility issues and more.

The Client’s overarching goal is to transition to a robust yet simple e-commerce site where buyers can view Life Essenz products on the website and users can sell products using all integrations (affiliate registration, unique identification/link, affiliate dashboards, commission payment gateway integrated with QuickBooks,...).

Objectives

The objective of the Phase 3 Life Beautified project was to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Life Essenz. In this case, this was an ecommerce site where they could enroll affiliates, using GoAffPro platform, who would help drive sales of fragrance products through their Empowered Associate (EA, also referred to as ‘affiliate’) model.

Through using Shopify as the ecommerce platform, the UX/UI was updated, product inventory and payment gateways were setup. Additionally, the site can be easily maintained with minimal tech on the backend. Shopify also allows for multiple users on the site simultaneously without crashes.

Through Shopify, the Affiliate Marketing integration was setup using GoAffPro. This made it easy to generate unique links for users to share, and track sales and commission. Users and Admins are able to see and manage dashboards. Payments are also disbursed using GoAffPro through the user dashboard.

Target Audience

The primary target audience was students at Public Schools. This can be a nested or non-nested student. Due to GoAffPro’s platform, only non-nested users are able to set up an affiliate account. The ability to create a “Nested user” was unable to be achieved (public school partners with Life scholar and sets up an organization account for Life Essenz). Secondary or parent accounts were also not able to be created with GoAffPro.
