Science to People – Sprint Retrospective Deep Dive: MVP3 Phase 1
Objective: This deep dive outlines the key functions performed by each team during Sprints 1 through 4 including how responsibilities were distributed; where pivots occurred; and how these aligned with MVP3 delivery goals.
Sprint 1: Foundations of Collaboration
Primary Focus: Team Alignment, Charter Creation, Project Infrastructure
- Project Management (PM): Facilitated Kickoff, created sprint schedule, implemented Notion for project tracking. Led the creation of the team agreement.
- Product Strategy (PS): Collaborated on early backlog organization and supported alignment meetings.
- UX Research (UXR): Provided interview frameworks and structured user insight intake planning.
- UX Design (UXD): Began building out initial visual design systems and collaborative rituals.
Key Pivot: Calendar and scheduling visibility issues (especially with TechFleet syncing) required a shift from live planning to async-friendly workflows using Discord and Notion.
Sprint 2: Framing the Problem & Defining MVP Scope
Primary Focus: Problem Definition, Research Synthesis, MVP2 Planning
- PM: Managed cross-functional communication to prevent scope creep. Set up client alignment documentation and facilitated async decisions.
- PS: Led refinement of MVP framing templates and started building comparative analysis tables.
- UXR: Generated personas and hypothesis trees based on content creator interviews and surveys.
- UXD: Translated research insights into draft wireframes and co-authored the MVP2 structure.
Key Pivot: Due to misalignment on MVP definition across functions, the team temporarily paused mid-sprint to run a cross-functional retrospective to align success criteria. This helped reset the MVP framing.
Sprint 3: Research and Prototype Integration
