Before you start the study,
Welcome to our usability study, and thank you for your time. Before we start, can you let me know how you’d like to be addressed?
Thanks. My name is [name], and I’m part of a team working to develop a crypto wallet browser extension. We’ll have [name] joining us on the call today. ___ is/are from the research team and ___ will be helping me by taking notes.
In today’s session, I’ll ask you to share your screen and accomplish a few tasks using a wallet extension we’re evaluating. Later, we’ll give you a questionnaire based on your experience as someone who’s new to crypto. The session should take about ____ minutes. Does that still work for you?
Great. If you need to take a break at any point, please let me know.
Before we start, I just want to remind you that there are no right or wrong answers. We’re testing the site, not you. So, you don’t have to worry about making mistakes.
As you use the site, I’m going to ask you as much as possible to try and think out loud: to say what you’re looking at, what you’re trying to do, and what you’re thinking. This will be a big help to us.
Also, please don’t worry about hurting our feelings. We want your honest reactions!
If you have any questions as we go along, just ask them. I may not be able to answer them right away, since we’re interested in how people do when they don’t have someone sitting next to them to help. But if you still have questions when we’re done, I’ll try to answer them then.
With your permission, I’d like to record this call. The recording will only be used to help us improve our app and it won’t be seen by anyone outside our research team. It also helps us not take as many notes. Do I have your permission to record this call?
Great. Do you have any questions so far?
Before we take a look at the site, I’d like to hear about you
