Notes
Mentor background check requirement?
- Likely keep based on previous conversations/phases
- TF team to do more research on background check requirement
New formats for onboarding kit & resource handbook
- Ideas: video onboarding, email campaign of resource handbook, interactive tutorial, slides, immersive scrolling for longer pages, requiring scrolling to certain points on screen to progress, quizzes after sections, scenario/response, resource hub
- Interns are open and have already given thought to different formats, definitely need to discuss scope/limitations more
Mentor onboarding flow
- Onboarding kit is mandatory part of onboarding, currently after background check & before profile set up
- Ideas on ways to decrease drop off: build content to help mentors understand importance of trainings by including testimonial quotes, share up front estimated length of training, show progress throughout training, include information about training in landing page, allow mentor to ‘publish’ profile once onboarding steps are completed
Mentee training also a possibility but will focus on mentor trainings for now
To do
- Product Strategy team to do more research on background check requirement
- Questions to answer: Who (just mentors? both mentors & mentees?), What (what are we screening for?), How (third-party), Why?
- Make recommendations based on previous phases’ research (user testing & comparative research) on background checks & secondary research (if necessary)
- Very important but not super urgent
- Interns to share sample scenarios they’re planning on making into videos (wants to do over call via screen sharing)
- UXD team to share mentor onboarding flow into Figjam for joint ideating on information architecture?
