Conditions I like to work in:
- I prefer non-distracting environments, I can be sensitive to overstimulation at times and that makes it difficult for me to focus. Of course this depends on the work that needs to be done and limitations I may have (such as time). Generally if I need to concentrate, non-distracting is the way to go.
- I like a good balance of collaboration and independent work. I find it helpful to have brainstorming sessions to get the gears going, but prefer to do specific design work (UX or UI by nature) on my own (then review/exchange feedback when the heavy lifting is over.
Times/Hours I like to work:
- I’m not an early-bird/morning person at all—unless I have to but if it’s an option, I work optimally late-morning/early noon to evening.
- My work hours are 10:30 or 11am - 5 or 6pm CST
- I tend to be less responsive on Sat-Sun, because I’m trying to set a boundary with when I work and when I rest. However, I will keep an eye out on Slack for any important messages/updates.
Communicate with me:
- Slack, Email, or LinkedIn
- I don’t mind hopping on a call when requested.
- I do my best to respond in 24 hours, so if by chance you haven’t heard from me, please follow up! It’s possible I need a little reminder.
I like to receive feedback:
- Direct, honest, and constructive feedback please. I want to grow and know that it’s not gonna happen if I’m not aware of what I’m doing wrong in the first place. We’re on the same team with the same goals, so I promise I won’t take anything the wrong way.
- I do my best to respectfully give similar feedback as well.
- If feedback (to or from) is difficult or complex, please send it in a message (I suspect I have undiagnosed ADHD, so having a concrete place to refer to it is very helpful) and then we can set up a call to work through the kinks.
- Kind and respectful feedback is preferred, but don’t feel obligated to beat around the bush. If something isn’t good, then please tell me.
