How to work with Elise

Conditions I like to work in

I prefer quiet environments and am distracted by noise.
Written communication, notes, and visuals. I struggle with just verbal instructions.

Slack DMs are the best way to reach me.
- I have a high preference to leave my Slack status as “away” even when I’m not. It is what I’m comfortable with. So DO message me regardless of my Slack status.
If you want to collaborate, go over something more in detail, personal, etc. I am also open to Slack huddles 1-1.
If I haven’t responded within a day, feel free to ping me again I do not mind.
I am online often and can message past “working hrs’ aka 5 pm EST but I wish to limit hopping on zooms/face meetings past then unless it’s quick/urgent.

Giving:

I like giving long, detailed Figma comments/feedback sometimes
During meetings, I talk sorta bluntly
I also will ask a lot of questions including “Why did you choose to do ____”
These things don’t mean I think the design is bad I genuinely want to know the thinking behind certain design decisions and gain understanding as well as give insightful feedback so we can better ourselves

Receiving:

If I ask to choose A or B design, I would appreciate not only the answer but also why you chose that answer
Direct, constructive feedback is much appreciated. I prefer reading difficult feedback in writing and then following up with a call if I request it.
