The main challenge for our design team in the initial stages of the Food Distro project was effectively managing our time. We focused on developing strategies to allocate our resources efficiently.
During the first sprint, our team made a deliberate choice to study competitive flows and refine the user interface. This allowed us to gain a thorough understanding of the problems we were dealing with.
As the project moved into the second sprint, important questions still remained unanswered. We had to decide which platform to design for and determine the appropriate business model, whether it be B2B, B2C, C2B, or C2C. To gain more clarity, we decided to skip the second sprint and extend our work later. This gave us the opportunity to step back and wait for additional information to guide the product's direction.
In the following sprints, we searched for existing UI kits to inspire us and used them as a foundation for our own UI kit and wireframes. We also established the core principles of a design system. By doing this before the sketching phase, we aimed to ensure smooth collaboration among our team of six designers.
Moving forward, we are excited to see user insights emerge from surveys and anticipate valuable information from interviews. As we enter the sketching phase, we will incorporate data and guidance from competitive analysis, interviews, and surveys, taking a comprehensive and well-informed approach to our design process.
